Dressing
Ingredients
2 boxes Cornbread StoveTop Stuffing Mix
½ to 1 Cup chopped celery
½ Cup chopped onion
Butter to saute and moisten [quite a bit]
1 Can Fat Free Vegetable Broth
Corn bread crumbs and/or bread crumbs.
Water as needed.
Prepare StoveTop Stuffing Mix as per directions. Saute celery and onion in butter until somewhat soft. I usually do covered in the microwave. Add celery/onion/butter mixture to prepared StoveTop. Depending on what you have available, add crumbled bread crumbs and bread crumbs, and some melted butter, if needed. You may wish to add additional sage. Mix all together. Add vegetable broth, as needed. Start checking for moisture level. If too soft, use another StoveTop box, prepare, and add. If too dry, add water, some butter, or more vegetable broth. Can let cool. Mound out patties and place on a nonstick backing sheet. Place in a preheated oven at about 375 degrees F. and bake about 12 minutes or until set and somewhat brown. Check as they bake as ovens vary. Can refrigerate mixture and make the next day. Can bake a day ahead and rewarm. Can freeze at any stage. This makes a bunch!
